Post for collecting bugs reported on this friendica instance

People have reported several bugs. I'm going to add them as comments on this post, so that I can keep track of them along with e.g. mitigations.

Password change produces an error overlay and doesn't change the password.

Apparent workaround: Log out; request a password reset; log back in with new password, and change password (if you still want one after the password reset)

password change just worked for me (although interestingly 1Password didn't prompt me to generate a new password, so I had to do it manually; makes me wonder if "new password" fields can somehow be marked as such by the website)

Sometimes "like"ing a post seems not to work, and produces a network error.

Apparent workaround: Wait a while?

The DM system appears as though it supports multi-way message streams, but when I try to add a second recipient they seem to replace the original recipient.

Notification count badges, especially for the "network" / timeline, seem inconsistent. Fairly often the "network" tab's badge shows a large number, but then clicking on the "network" tab doesn't reveal anything new. TBH this reminds me of classic facebook and I feel kind of nostalgic about it :P

Clicking "mark as seen" doesn't dismiss notifications. I can't find any way to dismiss notifications.

on the "Two-factor app-specific passwords" page (available after you set up 2FA), I can set up new app-specific passwords, but it just shows me a blank page instead of telling me what they are, so I can't use them.

If you have the dev console open to "network" with "preserve log" on when you do this, do you see anything interesting? I probably want to submit a bug report on github about this one and want to get available info.
in reply to Ben Weinstein-Raun

is "preserve log" a Chrome thing? I'm using Firefox, but when I look at its network tab while I'm going through this process, I don't see any non-200 response codes (apart from 304 for some stylesheet), and I don't see anything obviously wrong anywhere else (e.g. no exceptions in the JS console). This is true even in Firefox safe mode (all extensions disabled).

When I clicked "Submit" in the Send Message feature just now, nothing happened. I had a ben@superstimul.us equivalent in the to field. Is this an issue for others, or just me?
in reply to Ben Weinstein-Raun

I just had a brief period of getting stuck on the 2fa code page. I came back to my superstimul.us tab after a while away, and it redirected me to the 2fa page. I would enter the code and get a blank screen, so I'd refresh and it would take me back to the 2fa screen again. I did this a few times, tried logging out and back in again a couple of times, and eventually it worked. Not sure what happened to fix it.

When I try to add people, it says 'network not ?recognized?, contact couldn't be added'. I'm not sure whether it in fact did or didn't invite them - I've asked my invitees to let me know.

Hm, I suspect you were using the "Add new contact" box, which isn't actually inviting people via email, but is trying to add them from other fediverse instances. The thing you want to click is "Invite Friends"

I tried to edit an event I made, but all that happened when I clicked edit was the whole page went darker (as if for a modal) but there was no modal.
