What compression algorithm did God use to send Jesus to earth on Christmas?
(if you don't know the tune of this carol, it is here: youtube.com/watch?v=QmspXB6lUe… )
Once in royal David's city
Stood a lowly server shack,
Where a mother loaded her KB
In a mainframe on a rack.
Mary was that mother mild;
Gzip spliced those little files.
He came down to Earth from the cloud,
Who is God and Lord of all;
And His shell connection was unstable,
So the files all needed to be small:
With low network bandwidth (slowly)
Streamed to earth our Saviour holy.
For He is a lot of information;
Day by day, His petabytes unzipped.
Once the files had all been deflated,
Tears and smiles were in His script,
And His love for us so blessèd
Fills our hearts, when decompressèd.
Even yet, we may not see Him,
Father, Ghost, the Trinity;
For His true original file size
Is unending Infinity:
Boundlessness become 3D,
Sampled down, that we might see.
(Descant verse!)
Not in that poor lowly server shack,
With its overburden’d modem,
We shall see Him; but in heaven,
Where our souls shall be uploaden.
Where like stars in regex crowned
All His lossless children shall be found.
