I've been shifting my mind to be more focused on... the good side of things? empathy?
e.g. partner excitedly interrupts my attention when I'm focused/busy:
I briefly think "agh no stop"
then I think "he is doing this because he LOVES me"
sometimes I say that out loud. "oh! you're doing this because you love me"
a friend gives me unsolicited medical advice? "wow, they care about me and want to help!"
it feels good to help others. what a wonderful feature of humanity!
"mansplaining"? I reject it; seems like a derogatory term for the virtuous male impulse to help others understand things
when people like movies I don't like, I think "they're having fun and that's great"
if you enjoy cheap "trashy" food: what an economical way to find joy! yay!
I don't, by default, assume companies are run by greedy people. I assume they are run by people who genuinely care about the problem they're addressing
when people do fun stuff I can't do, I think "something Good is happening in the world. that is Good"
etc
I think this pattern of thinking makes me happier and improves my relationships
I see abundance everywhere
